Our Cookie policy:
Our cookies never contain personal data. Cookies are not a security risk for your data. Cookies are not constantly running applications; they will not copy or obtain files on your computer, besides they are not able to transmit viruses.
Many sites use cookies to simplify their offers for the users and to increase their usability: for example the cart of our online store or displaying site-directed advertising. If cookies are disabled, only a limited use of specific web offers will work.

Why we use Cookies:
There are many reasons why we use cookies. They range from an automated log-in to the facilitation of online purchases, for the optimization of websites, eg. by matching an offer to the special needs of a user. Cookies allow website operators to constantly update their offers to their customer’s needs and interests.

Which Cookies do we use?
We have different cookies set by our website:

1st Party Cookie
First-party cookie is a cookie also known as persistent cookie. Persistent (permanent) cookies are stored on your computer and cease to be valid only if their assigned expiration date has passed. Depending on that date, a persistent cookie could be valid for a few seconds, over days to several of years.

3rd Party Cookie
A third-party cookie is a tracking cookie set by a third party. The advantage of 3rd party cookies, however, is that you must not install a code on the landing page. Therefore, 3rd party cookie tracking is technically easier than 1st party cookie. Google AdWords uses 3rd party cookies to determine the conversion rate. Google Analytics for example uses 1st party cookies.

Our Mission

Treuleben embraces beauty and style in a contemporary interpretation of craftsmanship that draws on more than a century of experience in the production of leather goods and bookbinding. A statement of minimalism in exquisite colours that is both a pleasure to hold and behold.

Our VISION

Treuleben combines German design, full-grain Italian leather and traditional craftsmanship to produce unparalleled premium leather essentials. Our designs are characterized by sophistication, minimalism and the streamlined elegance of surfaces and edges, which celebrate the leather without the distraction of eyelets or hooks. This allows the exquisite colours and textures to unleash their full beauty.

We exclusively use Italian full-grain leather, which is tanned and finished for Treuleben in traditional family-run tanneries around Florence, all with centuries of experience in the trade.

Our production and manufacturing site in Tunisia was founded over 30 years ago. Here, individuals uphold generations of rare skills in quality leather crafting. This is where our traditional bookbinding artisanry, the production of fine leather goods and contemporary styling have been honed to perfection over the years.

Valuing Time Since 1917

Treuleben puts utility, beauty and class on the agenda. Innovative artisanry, which draws on a century of German bookbinding craftsmanship and leather processing, is enhanced by detailed finishing, the finest grade paper and supple full-grain cowhide leather, to create a signature line of attractive and refined products.

Our Products

Our products are life companions. These personal accessories are defined by their character, which grows with every passing day. Abundantly beautiful and practical, these calendars and notebooks have exactly what you need. Their convenient format is perfect for everyday use; the pliable and supple book jackets adapt to any situation. Exquisite design for contemporary moments, produced according to traditional methods of bookbinding craftsmanship.

Leather Craftsmanship

The smooth cowhide leather used to cover all the pliable jackets of our Treuleben calendars and journals is processed in an Italian tannery located between Pisa and Florence. We use only fullgrain genuine cowhide leather: premium quality, non-split hides, whose natural appearance is not compromised by processing with rollers or drenching with dyes.

Signature Envelope Pocket

Nearly all Treuleben products, whether these are calendars, journals or leather goods, feature the signature Treuleben envelope pocket design. The patented design is reminiscent of an open postal envelope but is actually a two-pocket construction: The top pocket can be used to quickly stow notes, tickets or receipts.

Bookbinding

Treuleben products are crafted in our own manufactory, which can look back on one-hundred years of bookbinding craftsmanship. The bodies of our books are stitched and feature hand-gilded edging. The hand-crafted jackets are covered with carefully selected, embossed finest leather and are joined with the stitched pages. The traditional headband, a page marker fashioned from corded ribbon and the Treuleben Envelope Pocket – all in Treuleben’s classic dark blue – put the finishing touch on our journals and calendars.

Paper

Treuleben journals and calendars are printed on paper that has been especially milled for us by an established German manufacturer. It weighs a mere 80 g per square meter. Our paper is light in weight to keep our products lightweight. Our goal was to produce a paper where the page beneath it doesn’t shine through or becomes saturated by ink. Paper that makes writing a pleasure. Regardless of the writing utensil you choose to capture your thoughts. We produce all of our paper in the colour Sand. This pleasantly creamy tone is soothing to look at and brings beauty to every page.
